How it works

From the first call to the last coat

Six steps. The survey is the part that comes before any commitment.

  1. 01

Step 1: You call or text a photo

Send a photo to the shop number or fill in the form. Adelaide asks a few questions about the house and sets a time.

  2. 02

    Step 2: The survey visit

Adelaide and one plasterer come to the house, tap the walls, check for moisture and photograph each layer.

  3. 03

Step 3: The written survey and scope

You get a note on what is original and what was added, what we would keep, repair or replace, and the order of the work.

  4. 04

    Step 4: You decide

Take the time you need. For a house in a historic district, the scope goes to the board first.

  5. 05

Step 5: Protect, prep and plaster

Floors and furniture are covered, dust is sealed off, and repairs go on in coats with drying time between them.

  6. 06

    Step 6: The final walk

We walk it with you in raking light, then leave the surface primed for paint.

Week one

What the first week in your house looks like

Plaster needs days to dry, so the crew comes and goes.

Day one is protection and prep: floors covered, doors sealed with plastic, furniture moved to the middle of the room. The first coats follow. Then we leave the plaster to dry, and come back for the next coat.

What to expect

  • Floors, stairs and furniture covered before any dust is raised

  • Paint wetted before it is disturbed, in any house built before 1978

  • A HEPA vacuum at the end of every working day

  • A named plasterer on site every day we are in the house

Living in the house

Questions about the days we are there

  • Can we stay in the house?

Usually. We close off the room we are in, and you keep the rest. A stairwell or a kitchen can be harder, and we plan around it.

  • What about dust?

Plaster dust is fine and it travels. We seal the work area, use wet methods on painted surfaces and finish each day with a HEPA vacuum.

  • What hours do you work?

Weekdays during the shop hours. We tell you when each day starts, and we don't leave a wall open overnight without protection.

  • Do I need to be home?

For the survey and the final walk, yes or someone you trust. During the work, we need a key and a way to reach you.

Start with a survey

Send a photo or book a visit, and we will read the wall with you.
